Meet the Founder: William Whitecloud
How Believing I Was Broken Nearly Killed Me
Hi, I’m William Whitecloud.
Founder of Natural Success and author of best-selling books The Magician's Way, The Last Shaman, and Secrets of Natural Success.
But before my success as a best-selling author, founding Natural Success and being globally recognized as a leader in the creative development space...
I actually grew up believing I was intellectually inferior to my peers, that I was inherently broken and ill equipped to participate in the mainstream of life. I suffered from low self-esteem and existential anxiety.
I experienced feelings of unworthiness, not being good enough, not belonging, and alienation. Avoiding being poor and dying from poverty was a constant preoccupation.
And then, things got worse...
Around 40 years ago I became mildly ill. Not wanting the illness to affect my new job at the time, I tried willing myself better. But the more I did to get better, the sicker I got.
Over the next ten years I suffered from increasingly serious bouts of ill health, for which there appeared to be no explanation. Though I travelled the world in search of a diagnosis, none was forthcoming, not even from some of the most eminent medical scholars and practitioners in the world.
I became obsessed with diet and exercise; this was considered by most the primary determinant of good health. I consulted medical and psychiatric experts. I tried meditating and praying to God. I researched the right way to live. I tried emulating the habits and philosophies of successful people I knew. I made attempts to complete my education. I tried to do good deeds.
The only thing that alleviated the mental, emotional and physical pain I constantly experienced was hard-core substances.
At rock bottom, practically on my deathbed, a random person who reckoned that they knew what was wrong with me and what would cure me made a bizarre suggestion: eat red meat, drink wine, have coffee, and smoke a couple of cigarettes a day.
It sounded like a suicide plan. At that time, I was reduced to surviving on purified water, boiled cabbage and vitamin infusions.
But I’d tried everything else and felt I had nothing left to lose... so I said yes.
And almost instantly… I got better. In fact my recovery was nothing short of miraculous.
As one would imagine, this dramatic turn of events had a profound impact on me. But maybe not in the way people might expect.
I didn't for one moment ever actually believe that there was any efficacy in the commodities that the stranger had prescribed. No, what occurred to me emphatically was the unshakable idea that what determined my experience in life was my focus.
For ten whole years I had obsessively focused on NOT being unwell and NOT losing control over my life, and that is exactly what I had manifested: being progressively more and more sick and dysfunctional. Then when I finally stopped caring about that and just wanted to live a normal life again, and to hell with the consequences, the punishing experience immediately ceased.
For the first time in a decade, I stopped trying to fix myself.
And I focused, without fear, on simply living.
That one shift changed everything. And I never went back.
Over time, I came to see what had really happened:
My experience hadn’t been caused by who I was — it was created by where I was focused.
Our experiences are structural and not inherent.
This fundamental truth exists for everyone.
And this is the truth that led to Natural Success.
Not theory. Not spiritual fluff. Just the mechanics of how life really works when you stop compensating and start creating.
My life today is unrecognisable from the one I was living back then. Not because I healed, but because I learned how to create.
And now, that’s what I help others do.
What Is Natural Success?
A Different Path to Transformation
Natural Success exists because I discovered, through my own lived experience, that trying to fix yourself doesn’t lead to the life you want.
Creating does.
What we teach here is not based on theory or borrowed ideas ... it comes from hard-won insight:
I spent ten years doing everything the world told me would help — therapy, meditation, good deeds, clean living.
Nothing worked. It wasn’t until I stopped trying to fix myself and shifted my focus to what I would love to create that everything changed.
There are two core principles at the heart of the Natural Success modality:
1. Your results are structural, not personal.
What you experience in life isn’t because of who you are, it’s because of how you’re focused.
2. Where you’re coming from matters more than where you’re trying to go.
Most people are unconsciously driven by fear, by the need to avoid pain or prove their worth. Even when they set goals, their real focus is on what they’re trying to get away from, and that’s exactly what they keep creating.
When you shift from Ego and compensation to vision and truth, you stop reacting to life and start creating it.
This is not about fixing your blocks.
This is about mastering the mechanics of creation.
